Kartika WeDe Leader/Singer/Songwriter · Kota Yogyakarta · Juni 2009 hingga sekarang Kartika WeDe started her career in the music world in 1997, originally only as a hobby, but after attending SMM (Musical High School) she started to take it more seriously. Initially performing mostly pop songs, after 2002 she begin to focus mostly on jazz, and formed the jazz group MILESTONE. During those years, members often changed but in the end a solid group consisted of Gupta (bass), Deny (drums), Gomez (piano, lyrics), Jeko (guitar). In 2006, Kartika and her colleagues opened a bar in Yogyakarta named Homesick Blues, and it became indeed one of the only clubs where people of Jogja could enjoy the Blues almost every night of the week. After Homesick closed, Kartika has decided to go solo. Learning from experience, it was still difficult to find a suitable escort and one soul singing the Blues; the process alone took almost a year. Now with her former band members Franky (keyboards) and Deny (drums), Yoga (bass), and Ruzan (guitar), her escort is expected to remain solid.
